What it is
Start with a real city problem. Build a response people can understand.
HiphAthon is a 4–6 week team challenge where participants use community insight, responsible AI, research, UrbanTech, and creative communication to explore an urban climate issue.
A team might address extreme heat, flooding, waste, air quality, energy use, green access, food systems, mobility, or another documented local need.

Research brief
A source-checked summary of evidence, community insight, and open questions.
Solution concept
A clear explanation of the proposed response and who would use it.
Prototype
A mockup, toolkit, dashboard concept, campaign, model, or service demonstration.

Realistic outcomes, risks, measures, partners, and next steps.
Public demo
A concise presentation designed for community members and invited partners.

Participants must review AI output, verify important facts, protect private information, identify uncertainty, and avoid presenting generated content as community evidence. A HiphAthon concept is not an approved city project, public policy, engineering plan, or safety-certified product unless an authorized body separately confirms that status in writing.
